LET IT ALL HANG OUT… No need to be ashamed!

March was a whirlwind of activity! There was significant progress, but also plenty of introspection. The preparation for my upcoming recital on April 7th, 2024 was intense, reflecting the culmination of my practice thus far. While there were moments that didn't meet my expectations, the challenge was incredibly rewarding. It reaffirmed the value of practicing performance, marketing, and promotion. It's all about finding your voice and learning how to communicate effectively. Now, I feel like I'm honing in on my strengths and trusting myself to see things through.

I'm currently reflecting on my path as an artist and considering what my next move should be. Should I relocate to Germany? My artistic side is emphatically shouting, "Yes!" However, my practical side is asking, "How will we manage financially?" Nevertheless, my rational self reassures me, "You're resourceful. You'll find a way." But how long will it take before I finally achieve success?

After a morning filled with music-making and teaching, it suddenly dawned on me: "THIS IS MY MUSIC CAREER!" It led me to ponder: How can I reshape it? How many opportunities can I generate that align with my strengths? What kind of career do I truly desire? What steps must I take to reach that goal? And perhaps most importantly, who must I become to manifest the life I envision?

Be. Do. Have.

  • What kind of a career do you want to HAVE?

I aspire to perform regularly, using my voice to touch people's hearts and contribute to their well-being. Life can be challenging, but music has the power to lighten the burden and bring joy. I also aim to educate others about opera, classical arts, and the realities of an artist's journey. My goal is to build a career where I can consistently earn income through my creativity. If I can dream it, I believe I can achieve it. Ultimately, I envision an operatic career that is creatively fulfilling, intellectually stimulating, and filled with the beauty of music-making alongside talented collaborators.

  • What do you have to DO to get there?

Secure financial stability by finding a job that sustains you while leaving energy for your craft outside of work hours. Utilize scheduling tools like bullet journaling, time blocking, and accountability trackers to track your progress. Diversify your income streams by exploring creative avenues for earning. Remember, successful individuals often diversify their income sources. Take cues from those who have achieved success. Lastly, commit to consistent practice and surround yourself with supportive individuals who aid in your growth, such as your voice teacher, coaches, and low-pressure performance venues to experiment with new music.

“If you stay ready, you don’t have to GET ready!”

  • Who do you have to BE?

    Courageous

    Smart

    Consistent

Ultimately, it's crucial to embrace your authentic self, flaws and all, and channel your creative energy to its fullest potential. Personally, I sometimes struggle to confront my shortcomings, veering between constructive criticism and feeling overwhelmed by self-analysis. It's tempting to either overlook areas for improvement or become stuck in overthinking. However, taking the time to honestly assess what is and isn't working is essential for growth. It's a period for reflection, recalibration, and rejuvenation.

Let the good, bad, and the ugly all hang out. Acknowledge all the colorful aspects that are uniquely yours. Embrace them with your unconditional love as you redefine yourself to serve your highest good in the world.

That’s my share for today! See you next time.
